Globus Medical
Globus develops medical devices that improve the quality of life for patients with musculoskeletal disorders. As a company connecting researchers, surgeons, and patients, Globus partnered with emagine to build a website that showcased their work beyond their products and spoke to each audience in their own language.

Audience Mapping
emagine spent the first phase of the project on strategy for Globus’ new online presence by interviewing the various users of the site, creating personas and a journey map for each. We created a site architecture from this research to focus a portion of the site entirely on patient education and early intervention – in user-friendly, non-clinical language. For HCPs, we focused the new architecture on partnerships between surgeons and researchers to collaborate on improving medical devices for these surgeries. The new architecture tightens Globus Medical’s relationship with their audiences and directs all users to relevant content starting from the home page.
Globus was looking for a dynamic user experience on the homepage to refresh their new brand position and modernize the look and feel of the brand. emagine came up with a concept that featured one of Globus’s videos in the hero. The video includes both technical images Globus Medical provided as well as elements from their brand messaging. Our creative created a homepage which echoes the video with hot spots and is better set up for integrating animation and user interactivity, giving the site an overall modern look and feel.
emagine worked strategically with the Globus team to understand the brand position. Inspired by Globus’s key message of ‘Life Moves Us’, emagine’s strategists worked to position the new website that captures their identity as a medical device company and ties to their mission of helping patients with musculoskeletal disorders and injuries get moving again – and inspires Globus to research continuously.
Globus has a huge library of unique products and medical devices. For the content management, emagine created flexible, user-friendly templates that present in an easy-to-locate solutions section of the site. Each product page now has a consistent template, but with the ability to customize when products don’t quite fit the mold.
Globus’s site was built with emagine’s SEO best practices with considerations for the site architecture, URL structures, and content. The new site put a focus on driving users to one of the 115 product pages.
In a second phase of the web project, emagine built a comprehensive portal for the Globus Medical Musculoskeletal Education and Research Center. They required an educational resource hub that could only be accessed by registered surgeons, with filtering by specialties such as spine or trauma available. Globus now has a home for their proprietary resources including surgery technique videos, and patient brochures for surgeons to distribute. It is another step forward in making Globus the center of where medical device research and practice intersect.
